The same standards, whatever the stakes
Since its founding, NextMarq has been guided by a conviction: legal rigour and the protection of clients' rights must go hand in hand with a responsive organisation and direct relationships with businesses.
These standards apply to every matter, from an innovative company's first trademark or design filings to the management of an international portfolio for a major group.
Éric Dupont, the firm's founder, and Romain Golzio-Casa, who joined NextMarq in 2011, share this vision of professional advice. Together, they preserve the firm's identity and the trusted, long-standing relationships it has built with its clients.
Command of every matter. Decisions we stand behind.
We favor direct relationships with our clients, based on an understanding of their business, continuity of service and accountability for our recommendations. Each matter is handled under the responsibility of an identified attorney, who remains your primary point of contact.
A French trademark and design attorney since 2003, Éric Dupont founded NextMarq in 2004 and heads the firm. He holds a DES de droit des créations immatérielles et de la propriété intellectuelle (postgraduate degree in the law of intangible creations and intellectual property) from the Institut de droit des affaires d'Aix-Marseille, and for more than twenty years has advised companies, their executives and their legal departments on their intellectual property strategies.
His practice covers, in particular, international protection, the structuring and value enhancement of trademark and design portfolios, contract negotiations and dispute prevention. He also speaks at conferences and leads training sessions on intellectual property.

Conseils en propriété industrielle are members of a regulated French profession. The title is reserved to professionals entered on a list kept by the Director General of the INPI, with a specialization in either patents or trademarks and designs. They are bound by professional secrecy and by rules of professional conduct, and must carry professional liability insurance.
In France, across Europe and internationally.
NextMarq assists businesses with the protection and management of their rights in France, throughout the European Union and internationally. The firm acts directly before the French IP Office (INPI) and the EUIPO, and works with a network of specialist local associates in other countries.
For foreign businesses and associates
We represent clients in France before the INPI and before the EUIPO for European Union matters, including filings, responses to office objections, oppositions, renewals and recordals.
For French businesses
We work with clients to identify the countries in which protection is needed and to establish an appropriate timetable. We then coordinate the protection and management of their rights abroad through our network of local associates.
Structure, analyze, secure
We approach each matter as a decision to be prepared: identifying the risks, defining the scope of protection, anticipating the obstacles. Our role is to provide a rigorous analysis and a clear recommendation on which the client can rely to make an informed decision.
This approach applies equally to a first filing, a portfolio strategy, opposition proceedings or international protection. It rests on a precise understanding of the commercial and legal issues specific to each situation.
"You receive an analysis carried out by your direct contact, a clear position and consistent follow-up — from filing through to disputes."
